Women's Soccer Edged by Dean

FRANKLIN, Ma. -- The Mitchell College women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss against Dean College on Wednesday afternoon at Lippert Field.

Jazzy Sztyler-Magee scored the lone goal of the match for the Bulldogs in the 43rd minute. Gemma Landry had 11 saves in net for the Mariners, whose offense registered the most shots on goal in a game so far this season.

Taylor Bialowas and Elon Johnson led the attack, each getting off two shots on net, while Madison Nicynski also sent one at the goal during the first half. The Mariners had a chance to tie the game late, when Bialowas shot on net in the 86th minute, but Dean's Lexi Gerow was able to make the save.

It was another strong performance for the Mitchell (0-3-1) defense, which has now allowed just one goal over their last two games.

Mitchell will play their fifth straight road match to begin the season on Saturday when they travel to Brooklyn College to face the Bulldogs. Following that, the Mariners will look towards their home opener on Wednesday, September 21st against Northern Vermont-Lyndon.
