Mitchell Sophomore Named to United Soccer Coaches' All-Region Team

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Mitchell College women's soccer standout Gemma Landry (Lewiston, ME) has been named to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's All-Region II team, as recently announced by the organization.

The sophomore goalkeeper earned second team honors in Region II following a season in which she also was named to the NECC Women's Soccer All-Conference Team selection.

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., United Soccer Coaches has grown into the world's largest soccer coaches' organization that serves members at every level of the game.

The Mariners finished their season with a 5-8-4 record, falling in double overtime against New England College in the semifinals of the 2022 New England Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Championship.

In her sophomore campaign, Landry established herself as the top goalkeeper in the conference, finishing with 158 saves while posting a conference best 1.50 goals against average. Her 158 saves were 32 saves more than second place, and she finished with double digit saves in eight games this fall.
