VOLLEYBALL EDGES OUT ST. JOSEPH'S COLLEGE CONN. TO WIN HOME OPENER

NEW LONDON, CONN.-Mitchell College defeated Saint Joseph College (West Hartford, CT) 3 - 0 (30-21, 30-27, 25-30, 28-30, 15-12) in front of an excited home crowd. This was Mitchell's season and home opener. Mitchell (1 - 0) was led by captain Theresa Kouris (SR, Ledyard, CT, Criminal Justice) with 33 kills and 12 service points.e Sarah Sentcen (SO, Terryville, CT, Liberal Studies ) played well upfront with 13 kills and adding 6 service points and walk-on setter Trina Collins-Dean (SR, Westerly, RI, Criminal Justice) had 36 assists.

Mitchell returns to action on Friday and Saturday at the Saint Joseph College (Standish, ME) Invitational. The Saint Joseph College Blue Jays rest until Tuesday, September 12 when they host Trinity College.
