Conn College Takes Down Volleyball 3-0

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Mitchell College women's volleyball team lost 3-0 at Connecticut College on Wednesday night at Luce Fieldhouse.

Connecticut College (6-2 overall) took the match by scores of 25-8, 25-11 and 25-18. The Camels blitzed the Mariners from the service line for 19 aces over the match, including 10 in the first game alone.

Despite the rough start, Mitchell (1-2 overall) improved steadily throughout the match. In the third set, the Mariners trailed by as many as five points before cutting the deficit to 14-12. The Camels led 19-17 before rallying to take the set, as Jessica Lasher served for four straight points to put the game out of reach.

Juniors Jen Bordonaro and Stephanie Davis each tallied three kills to lead the Mariners. Bordonaro also led the team with six assists while Davis recorded a team-high six digs.

Mitchell will next play at Eastern Connecticut State University on Monday, September 28 at 7 p.m.
