Volleyball Blanked by Saint Joseph

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Mitchell College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Saint Joseph College on Wednesday night at the Yarnall Athletic Center.

The Blue Jays (9-11 overall) won by scores of 25-21, 25-13 and 25-23. Junior Brittany Souza led the way with a game-high 13 kills and added 14 digs, four blocks and four aces. Freshman Jennifer Braun handed out 24 assist to lead the offense.

The Mariners (4-6 overall) got 10 kills from senior Heather-Renae Powers and eight from freshman Shayna Diggs. Junior Jennifer Bordonaro finished with 25 assists to go along with three kills.

Mitchell will next host Coast Guard on Thursday, October 15 at 7 p.m. Saint Joseph will next host Pine Manor College on Saturday, October 17 at 1 p.m.
