Volleyball Swept at New Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Mitchell College women's volleyball team dropped matches to Lehman College and New Jersey City University on Saturday afternoon, each by 3-0 finals.

In the first match of the day, Mitchell (3-3 overall) lost to Lehman by scores of 25-21, 27-25 and 25-19. Senior Stephanie McKeon led the Mariners with seven kills while sophomore Shayna Diggs added six. Senior Jen Bordonaro handed out 11 assists and finished with five aces while sophomore Samantha Alevras-Tarbell came up with a match-high 12 digs.

In the second match against New Jersey City, the Mariners fell by scores of 25-10, 25-10 and 25-21. Diggs led the team with seven kills while McKeon chipped in with six, and Bordonaro added 12 assists to pace the offense.

Mitchell will next host Pine Manor College on Thursday, September 23 at 7 p.m.
