Terni Repeats as NECC Rookie of the Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the second time in as many weeks, Mitchell College freshman Nicole Terni was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for the sport of women's volleyball, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Terni led the Mariners to a five-set victory over Albertus Magnus College last week. The rookie setter handed out a career-high 35 assists and added 22 digs and seven kills with a hitting percentage of .316.

Terni has played in all six matches this season and leads the Mariners with 125 assists and 16 service aces. She also currently ranks fourth in the NECC in assists per set (5.43).

This week marks the third straight week that a Mitchell player has earned NECC rookie honors. Terni was a repeat selection while classmate Jaclyn Tempkins earned the distinction on September 12.

Mitchell (4-2 overall) will next play at Curry College on Tuesday, September 27 at 6 p.m.
