Volleyball Splits in Tri-Match at New Rochelle


NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Mitchell College women's volleyball team split a pair of 3-0 matches on Saturday afternoon, defeating the College of Saint Elizabeth before falling to the College of New Rochelle.

Mitchell (3-9 overall) won by set scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-20 over Saint Elizabeth, picking up its third victory of the season. In their second match of the day, the Mariners fell to New Rochelle by set scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-11. 

Freshman Myia Williams paced Mitchell with a season- and match-high 11 kills on 23 swings in the opener. Junior Nicole Caminiti handed out 19 assists while classmate Kaisea Caramante added 13 digs.

Against New Rochelle, Williams added six more kills while junior Amanda Garcia contributed five. Caminiti finished with 15 assists and 10 digs while Caramante chipped in with a match-high 14 digs.

Mitchell will next play at Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday, October 1 at 7 p.m.
