Volleyball Falls 3-0 at Dean

FRANKLIN, Mass. -- The Mitchell College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision (25-23, 25-13, 25-18) at Dean College on Tuesday night in the penultimate game of the regular season.

Nikki Gerald paced the Mariners with nine kills while Ariana Carter, Laurissa Amaker and Courtney Cappabianca contributed four apiece. Cameron Childs pitched in with 16 assists and a team-high 10 digs.

The opening set was tied at 21-21 before Dean reeled off three straight points to seize control. Mitchell fought back to pull within one at 24-23 before a service error gave the Bulldogs set point.

Dean won seven of the first nine points in the second set and coasted to a 2-0 advantage. The Bulldogs then went on to lead by as many as 10 in the third set to sew up the match and improve to 12-12 overall (2-5 NECC).

Mitchell (3-15 overall, 2-6 NECC) wraps up the regular season with a home date against New England College on Saturday, October 27 at noon.
