DeLoach Named NECC Rookie of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Olivia DeLoach was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of women's volleyball, as announced by the league on Tuesday morning.

DeLoach averaged a team-high 2.63 kills and 4.75 digs per set in a pair of non-conference wins last week. She finished with season highs of 15 kills and 27 digs in a five-set victory over Salem State University and also added three aces. Earlier in the week she recorded six kills and 11 digs as Mitchell defeated Albertus Magnus College for the second time this season.

DeLoach is the first Mitchell player to earn weekly conference honors since 2012. In 16 matches this season she is averaging a team-high 2.15 kills per set, and she also ranks second on the Mariners in digs (156) and third in service aces (32).

Mitchell (9-9 overall) will next host Fisher College on Wednesday, October 16 at 7 p.m.
