DeLoach Tabbed NECC Rookie of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Olivia DeLoach was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of women's volleyball, as announced by the league on Tuesday morning.

DeLoach helped the Mariners to a 2-1 record last week, tallying two double-doubles and averaging 3.63 kills per set and 4.13 digs per set. She started the week with 14 kills and 16 digs in a win over conference foe Bay Path University. In a tough loss to Connecticut College, the rookie once again put up double digits in kills and digs with 10 and 12, respectively. DeLoach tacked on six service aces, two assists and two total blocks.

DeLoach earned the honor for the second time this season (Oct. 15). Through 21 matches she is averaging a team-high 2.36 kills per set, and she also ranks second on the Mariners in digs (204) and third in service aces (40).

Mitchell (12-10 overall, 3-3 NECC) will next host Becker College on Tuesday, October 29 at 7 p.m.
