QUINCY, Mass. -- The Mitchell College women's volleyball team lost by a 3-0 final to Eastern Nazarene College on Wednesday night in New England Collegiate Conference action at the Lahue Athletic Center.

The Lions won by set scores of 25-15, 28-26, and 25-12 to remain undefeated in conference play and improve to 20-1 overall this season.

ENC hit .310 as a team and were paced by Eliana Baran's 13 kills. Fiona Shaw led the Lions with 13 digs and Telma Zelaya tallied 36 assists, both also match-high figures. Sophomore Allison Blum was credited with a team-best 12 kills for Mitchell and she also added nine digs. Senior Olivia DeLoach registered 10 digs and fellow senior Claire Binfield dished out 26 assists for the Mariners, who were unable to secure their first conference victory of the season.

After a Ciera Moore kill pulled Mitchell to within one-point midway through the first set, the Lions scored six straight and nine out of 11 to pull away, icing the set on a kill by Piper Bolner. Both teams jockeyed for positioning during a very competitive second set, with the lead switching back and forth early on. Back to back kills by Allison Blum had the visitors in a good position, up 24-23. The Lions then peeled off two consecutive points before Sarah Aviles notched one of her six kills to tie everything up 25-25. After the teams traded a point each, ENC went up for good by scoring the final two points, ending the set on a kill by Eliana Baran.

The home team scored six of the first seven points in the third and final set and never looked back. The ENC lead extended to 10, and they would eventually take the frame by 13 points, securing their 13th straight victory.
