Junior Francesca Pinard averaged a team-high 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game last week to lead the women's basketball team to a 2-0 record in NECC play. She poured in a career-high 24 points on 11-for-18 shooting against Elms and also grabbed eight rebounds. She then finished with nine points and nine boards in a wire-to-wire win over Southern Vermont. The Mariners, who extended their winning streak to four games, improved to 11-3 in league action and are primed to earn one of the top seeds in the upcoming NECC Championship.
