Freshman Sam Gaboury tied for fifth at the NECC Men's Golf Championship over the weekend while helping the Mariners to a third-place finish. In addition to landing a spot on the all-conference first team, he became the first Mitchell golfer to be named NECC Rookie of the Year. He is just the second Mariner to ever earn all-conference first-team status (Mike Lepore, 2008). On Monday he was selected as NECC Rookie of the Week for the fourth straight week.
