Michael Ficocelli

Catcher/first baseman Michael Ficocelli (North Providence, R.I.) continued his strong freshman season, slashing .467/.467/.533, helping guide the Mitchell College baseball team to a 3-0 record on the week, including a 1-0 mark in conference play.

Ficocelli hit safely in all three games, highlighted by a 4-6 performance with a double, two RBI, and three runs scored in a GNAC win over Dean College. On the week, the freshman had seven hits, including a double, to go along with two RBI and three runs scored. After going 1-5 to open the week against Keene State, Ficocelli was 2-4 against the Coast Guard Academy, before busting out with four hits against the Bulldogs. He has now recorded a hit in six straight games, five of which have been multi-hit games.

Entering the new week, Ficocelli is batting .385 with 45 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, 19 RBI, and 31 runs scored in 31 games played.
