Bio

Mike Brunetti joined Mitchell College as Sports Information Director in 2022.

In his role he oversees the day-to-day publicity of the Mariners’ 12 intercollegiate sports and serves as the primary media contact for the Mitchell Athletic Department, writing and disseminating all athletic publications for the College. Brunetti also manages all aspects of the Mitchell Athletic Department's website and social media accounts (not sport-specific) and maintains the department's historical archives. In addition, he serves as the primary statistician for all home athletic events, manages gameday operations for all home events, is in charge of a team of student workers and interns, and coordinates all the audio and video broadcasting of Mitchell athletic events.

During his tenure, Brunetti has served as the host SID for the first NCAA Baseball Regional in school history as well as multiple conference championship events. He was also instrumental in the revival of the Mitchell College Athletic Hall of Fame and helps to coordinate the annual Mariner2Mariner event, a now cornerstone program that brings alumni student-athletes back to campus for roundtable discussions with current teams.

Prior to coming to Mitchell, Brunetti spent just over four years as the Sports Director for WINY Radio (1350 AM / 97.1 FM), covering local sports in Northeastern Connecticut. In that role he managed the Sports Department of the radio station, serving as a reporter, broadcaster, and public relations liaison within an area encompassing 10 towns and beyond. While in this position, he managed media relations, produced live broadcasts, served as play-by-play host, and collaborated and coordinated with athletic directors, coaches, student-athletes, and community leaders to obtain and share results, all while telling the stories of athletes and teams.

Brunetti earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Keene State College and holds a certificate from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in radio and television production.

He currently resides in Putnam, Connecticut, with his wife Nicole and daughter Josie.
