Iglesias Named Second Team All-Independent as Sophomore

NEW LONDON, CONN.---Mitchell College Women's Basketball announce sophomore guard Jennifer Iglesias (Waterbury, Conn./Sacred Heart) was named to the 2008 All-Independent Second Team announced late last week by the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I).

Nashua (Daniel Webster Sports Info)- The duo of senior Erin Moseley (Sterling, Mass.) and freshman Joyce Chagan (Boothbay Harbor, Maine) combined for 59 points with Moseley knocking down 31 and Chagan adding 28 guiding host Daniel Webster past Mitchell, 92-76 in a preview of New England Collegiate Conference rivals Wednesday night at Vagge Gymnasium.

NEW LONDON, CONN.-Mitchell Women's Basketball completed the afternoon sweep of Southern Vermont College Saturday afternoon. The Pequot's defeated the Mountaineers 81-46 for their fourth win of the season (4-17). Southern Vermont leaves New London at 2-17 overall.

MITCHELL WOMEN GET FIRST WIN OF SEASON AGAINST ST. JOSEPH COLLEGE

NEW LONDON, CONN. Mitchell College earned their first victory of the young season Wednesday night against St. Joseph College, 69-49, at the Yarnall Athletic Center. Mitchell is now 1-5 on the season. St. Joseph (CT) is now 2-4 with the loss.

Mitchell College, under the direction of Head Coach Cas Grygorcewicz, returns four players from last year's roster, adds seven freshman and a transfer who is not new to the Pequot uniform. This year's team is hoping to build on their 16 -11 finish last season when they won 12 of their last 13 games and finished second at the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Northeast Regional.
