EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. -- The Mitchell College women's soccer team lost by a 7-1 final to Bay Path University on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference play at Ryan Field.
Bay Path led 4-1 at halftime and tacked on three more scores over the final 45 minutes. Jennifer Wilson netted a hat trick for the Wildcats while Jai Ruiz added two goals and a pair of assists.
Mitchell's goal came from Jacquelyn White in the 17th minute, a tally that cut the visitor's deficit to 2-1. The goal was her team-leading third of the season.
The Wildcats responded just two minutes later to go up 3-1 on Wilson's first marker of the contest. Bay Path later added the fourth goal with five minutes to go in the half. In the second stanza, Wilson completed the hat trick with scores in the 47th and 56th minutes.
Mitchell (1-13 overall, 0-8 NECC) will close out the regular season at home against New England College on Wednesday, October 24 at 3:30 p.m.
