Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at NECC Championship
STOW, Mass. -- The Mitchell College men's golf team finished seventh at the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference Championship on Sunday at Stow Acres Country Club.
Babson College held on to the overnight lead and took home the team title with a round of 314 for a two-day total of 623. Elms College, which trailed by two strokes after the first round, finished as runner-up at 638.
Babson's Ian Notkin carded a round of 76 for the second straight day to finish as the individual medalist at 152. Teammate Kyle Alexander and Elms' Chris Miele each recorded two-day totals of 155 to finish tied for second place in the field of 35.
Mitchell trimmed 10 shots off its team score from the first round and came in at 401 on Sunday. Freshman Ryan Swarts posted the team's best round of the weekend (92) and finished 26th overall at 196.
Mitchell will next host the Mitchell Invitational on Wednesday, October 8 at Shennecossett Golf Course.
