McLean Takes Second at Brett Williamson Invitational
WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Mitchell College junior Shamus McLean put up another strong performance on Wednesday, shooting a one-over-par 72, good for a second place finish at the Brett Williamson Invitational at Tekoa Country Club.
McLean finished just three strokes behind Ashton Lewis of Eastern Connecticut State, who earned medalist honors by firing a two-under-par 69.
The Mariners shot 353 as a team, good for an eight place finish ahead of Dean College, Worcester State, and Massachusetts College. Eastern Connecticut State won the day with a 303, while NVU-Johnson was second (307), and New England College third (309).
Jaxon Hinshaw, Ryan King, and Jack Hayes carded rounds of 92, 94, and 95 respectivly. Micheal Thompson rounded out the scroing for the Mariners with a 115.
Mitchell will have one more tune up before the MASCAC Championship, as they will head to New Haven Country Club on Thursday, September 30th to battle Albertus Magnus.
