XC Runs at CCRI
LINCOLN, R.I. -- The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country teams ran at the CCRI Tri-State Invitational on Saturday afternoon on the CCRI Flanagan campus.
David Still notched a top-10 finish for the third straight week, finishing ninth in the field of 86 runners in the men's 8k race. His time of 29:06 was nearly four minutes faster than the time he posted at the event as a freshman in 2016.
Nick Lebron (36:50), Ajibola Majoyeogbe (40:25), Nicolai Werner (43:20) and Evan Kristal (45:35) rounded out the scoring for the Mariners, who finished 10th with a team score of 246.
On the women's side, Kate McCormack paced the Mariners with a season-best time of 24:59 and finished 45th in the women's 5k race. Francesca Pinard (27:38) also recorded a season-best time and crossed the finish line in 62nd place, followed closely by Caelin Hetherman (27:45). Kaitlyn Polcaro (29:09) and Victoria Chalko (29:57) rounded out the scoring for Mitchell, which turned in a team score of 187.
Mitchell will next compete at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday, October 7 at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass.
