KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Mitchell College softball team lost games to Rhodes College and Illinois College at the Rebel Spring Games on Tuesday.
The Mariners lost 7-0 to Rhodes as starting pitcher Allison Long tossed a no-hitter and struck out three over 7.0 innings. Mitchell then dropped a 16-2 decision in five innings to Illinois. Jenny Groman drove in a run in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly while Shannon O'Neil added an RBI single in the fifth.
Mitchell (1-5 overall) returns to action at the Rebel Games on Wednesday, March 9 against Beloit College and Coe College.
