LaBreck Earns NECC Player of the Week Honors
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College sophomore Emma LaBreck (Rollinsford, N.H.) was named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the sport of softball, as announced by the league on Monday morning.
LaBreck earned the honor for the first time this season and a Mitchell player has now earned Player of the Week honors in three consecutive weeks.
The sophomore first baseman slashed .611/.682/.944 for the Mariners, who posted a 2-4 record on the week. LaBreck belted her first home run of the season, drove in 10 runs, scored five times, and drew four walks. She reached base safely in all six games, three of which were multi-hit outputs. LaBreck elevated her game in conference play, going 5-8 with six RBI, two doubles, and four runs scored in a doubleheader sweep against Lesley University.
LaBreck finds herself in the top 10 among all players in the conference in batting average (.375), on base percentage (.453), slugging percentage (.500), RBI (15), and doubles (5).
Mitchell (12-10 overall, 3-1 NECC) will next play on Wednesday, April 12, when they visit crosstown rival Coast Guard Academy for a non-conference doubleheader.
