WINTHROP, Mass. - Mitchell College senior Yasmine Santos (Pawtucket, R.I.) has earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week honors for the sport of women’s basketball, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. It marks the third time that Santos has been named the conference Player of the Week, having previously earning the honor the weeks of 11/27 and 1/15.

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Sophomore Jamya Beddoe (New London, Conn.) poured in a career-high 22 points, including three fourth quarter three-pointers, to power the Mitchell College women’s basketball team past Anna Maria College 75-65 on Tuesday night in GNAC action at the Yarnall Athletic Center. The victory is the first on the season in conference play for the Mariners, while the AMCATS drop to 3-7 against GNAC opponents.
Comeback Falls Short for Women’s Basketball at Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Mitchell College women’s basketball team battled back from a 17-point third quarter deficit to make it a one basket game in the final moments on Saturday afternoon, but the comeback fell short, as Colby-Sawyer College held off the Mariners 52-48 in GNAC action at the David L. Coffin Field House. The Mariners drop to 0-8 in the GNAC play with the loss, while the Chargers improve to 3-5 against conference opponents.
