NEWTON, Mass. – The Mitchell College women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-2 decision to Lasell College on Thursday afternoon at Grellier Field.
Sydney Brady scored a game-high four goals to lead the Lasers, who improved to 3-5 on the season.
Mitchell's two goals came from Abby Rasmussen and Daniella Holland. Goalie Hannah Gomes finished with nine saves against 25 shots.
Brady netted a hat trick in the first quarter as the Lasers got off to a hot start. Lasell led 10-0 at halftime and 14-0 after three quarter before Rasmussen was able to put the Mariners on the scoreboard just 32 seconds into the fourth. Holland added her fourth marker of the season with 6:34 remaining in the contest.
Rasmussen paced the Mariners with four ground balls while Alex Novakowski and Fallon McGraw scooped up three apiece. McGraw also caused a team-high three turnovers on defense.
Mitchell (1-7 overall) will next host Rhode Island College on Wednesday, April 6 at 3 p.m.
