Binfield Tabbed as NECC Player of the Week
MANSFIELD, Mass. -- Mitchell College senior Claire Binfield was named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the sport of women's volleyball, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.
Binfield, a setter, continued her strong play, averaging 5.92 assists per set to help lead Mitchell to a 2-1 record on the week, including victories over Regis and Curry. She posted a double-double of 24 assists and 12 digs in a win over Regis, also tallying her 1,000th career assist during the match. She averaged 1.67 digs per set on the week, and adding three service aces.
Binfield becomes the second Mitchell women's volleyball player to earn Player of the Week honors this season.
The Mariners (8-5 overall) next play on Tuesday, October 4th, on the road against crosstown rival Connecticut College.
