Mariners Place 15 on NECC Fall Academic All-Conference Team

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - A total of 164 student-athletes, including 15 from Mitchell College, were named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the 2017 fall semester.

Representing the Mariners were sophomore Michaela DeSena (women's soccer), senior Tiana Edwards (women's soccer), senior David Eichelberg (men's golf), senior Megan Elphick (women's volleyball), sophomore Piterson Ferdinand (men's soccer), sophomore Michael Izzo (men's golf), junior Drew Johndrow (women's soccer), senior Yianni Longinidis (men's soccer), junior Kate McCormack (women's cross country), junior Francesca Pinard (women's cross country), senior Taylor Saja (women's soccer), junior Andrew Storton (men's soccer), senior Lauren Tompkins (women's volleyball), senior Zavier Veliz (men's soccer) and junior Jacquelyn White (women's soccer).

A total of three Mariners were first-time fall honorees. Eichelberg, Elphick, Johndrow, McCormack, Pinard, Storton, Veliz and White were all repeat selections while Edwards, Longinidis, Saja, and Tompkins earned the distinction for the third time in their careers.

To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, field hockey and men's golf were eligible for fall NECC academic honors.
