Mariners Land 13 Student-Athletes on NECC Academic All-Conference Team
ATTLEBORO, Mass. - A total of 136 student-athletes, including 13
from Mitchell College, were named to the New England Collegiate
Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the 2014 spring
semester.
Representing the Mariners were sophomore Rivkah Berkman
(softball), sophomore Savannah Boyle (women's basketball), junior
Jordan Cook (men's lacrosse), junior Michael Edwards (men's
tennis), junior A.J. Fialkowski (men's lacrosse), sophomore Toshina
Jessamy (women's basketball), junior Chris McKeon (men's tennis),
senior Kenneth Olszewski (baseball), sophomore Shannon O'Neil
(softball), junior Evan Peck (baseball), junior Lindsey Romagnino
(softball), senior Zachary Simmons (men's tennis) and sophomore
Dazjavia Williams (women's basketball). A total of six
Mariners were first-time spring honorees while Cook,
Fialkowski, McKeon, Olszewski, Peck, Romagnino and Simmons earned
the distinction for the second time in their careers.
To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete
must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a
scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing.
Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's basketball,
men's volleyball, baseball, softball, men's lacrosse, women's
lacrosse and men's tennis were eligible for spring NECC academic
honors.
