Mariners Place 22 on NECC Fall Academic Team

MANSFIELD, Mass. - A total of 156 student-athletes, including 22 from Mitchell College, were named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the 2021 fall semester.

The 22 selections were the most Mitchell has produced in the fall semester in its 13 years as an NECC member. The women's volleyball team led the way with eight selections while women's soccer had five, followed by men's soccer (4), women's cross country (3) and men's cross country (2).

Representing the Mariners were sophomore Sarah Aviles (women's volleyball), junior Claire Binfield (women's volleyball), senior Grace Burns (women's cross country), junior Nolan Clack (men's soccer), senior Stephanie Costabile (women's volleyball), junior Olivia DeLoach (women's volleyball), sophomore Isabel Foley (women's soccer), junior Aizhane Glenn (women's cross country), senior Joshua Hermann (men's cross country), senior Chad-Wayne Hopkins (men's soccer), sophomore Lara Jacobs (women's cross country), sophomore Jessica Krupnikoff (women's soccer), sophomore Justin-Corey Le (men's soccer), sophomore Katelyn Lipsky (women's soccer), junior Hannah O'Brien (women's volleyball), junior Megan Pardee (women's volleyball), senior Brandon Reynolds (men's cross country), junior Rachel Ricciuti (women's soccer), senior Mason Rubino (men's soccer), junior Bree Rudolph (women's volleyball), sophomore Molly Steel-Miller (women's volleyball) and junior Mariah Travisano (women's soccer).

A total of nine Mariners were first-time fall honorees. Binfield, Clack, DeLoach, O'Brien, Ricciuti, Rudoph and Travisano were repeat selections while Hermann, Reynolds, Burns, Hopkins, Rubino and Costabile earned the distinction for the third time in their careers.

To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country and field hockey were eligible for fall NECC academic honors.
