NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Mitchell College baseball team suffered their first loss in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Thursday afternoon, falling to Colby-Sawyer College 11-4 at Kelsey Field.
It was a dominant week for Mitchell College junior Brooke Whitmarsh (Portsmouth, R.I.), as the junior catcher/3B slashed .440/.500/.640, helping guide the Mariners to a 6-2 record on the week, including a 5-1 mark in conference play.
Michael Ficocelli (North Providence, R.I.) continued his strong freshman season, slashing .467/.467/.533, helping guide the Mitchell College baseball team to a 3-0 record on the week, including a 1-0 mark in conference play.
