Lucey Lands on GNAC All-Conference Third Team
WINTHROP, Mass. – Mitchell College junior Dylan Lucey (Lebanon, Conn.) was one of 11 players to be named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Soccer All-Conference Third Team, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
Voting was conducted by the league's 15 men's soccer head coaches following the regular season and did not take postseason play into account.
Lucey, who was one of just nine forwards to be selected to an All-Conference team, started and played in 15 games for the Mariners this past season and served as a team captain. He paced the Mitchell offensive attack by logging a team-high six goals, five of which came during conference play. Lucey also added one assist in league play and finished the fall with 13 total points, 11 of which came against GNAC opponents. The junior tallied a career-best three points during a conference tilt against Dean College, finishing with one goal and one assist.
It marks the second time Lucey has been named to an All-Conference team, having earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) First-Team honors in 2022 as a midfielder. Throughout his three seasons with the Mariners, Lucey ranks fifth all time in the Division III era of the program with 30 points, and is tied for fifth all time with 14 career goals.
Additionally, sophomore Flavio Alvarado (New London, Conn.) was selected as the Mitchell representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
The Mariners finished their first season as a member of the GNAC with an overall record of 2-11-3 (2-10-2 GNAC).
