2011: Named to the NECC All-Conference Second Team, the NECC
All-Championship Team and the NECC Academic All-Conference
Team ... started and played in 32 games ... made five starts at
both first base and as the designated player ... made 23
appearances and 22 starts in the circle and led the Mitchell staff
with a 2.32 ERA and an overall record of 12-9 ... tossed 20
complete games that included three shutouts and a no-hitter ... had
one save ... struck out 75 batters in 130.0 innings and issued
only 15 walks ... allowed the fewest walks of any starting pitcher
in the NECC ... also ranked among the league leaders in appearances
(2nd), innings pitched (2nd) and ERA (3rd) ... held opponents to a
.234 batting average ... went 8-2 in conference play
with a 2.33 ERA ... allowed only one run on two hits while
striking out seven against Albertus Magnus to pick up her first win

It was a dominant week for Mitchell College junior Brooke Whitmarsh (Portsmouth, R.I.), as the junior catcher/3B slashed .440/.500/.640, helping guide the Mariners to a 6-2 record on the week, including a 5-1 mark in conference play.

Michael Ficocelli (North Providence, R.I.) continued his strong freshman season, slashing .467/.467/.533, helping guide the Mitchell College baseball team to a 3-0 record on the week, including a 1-0 mark in conference play.
