LAX's Sullivan Tabbed ECAC Offensive Player of the Week
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Shane Sullivan was named ECAC Division III Offensive Player of the Week for the New England region on Tuesday, as announced by the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
Sullivan led the Mariners to a 2-1 record last week and finished with 14 goals and nine assists for 23 total points. He scored a season-high seven goals and added four assists in a win over Wheelock, the highest goal total by a Mitchell College player this season and the highest single game point total in the school's Division III history. He also finished with four goals and three assists in a win at Emerson, and in a loss at Mount Saint Vincent he recorded his first career hat trick and added a pair of helpers.
Sullivan has started and played all nine games this season while helping the Mariners to a 6-3 overall record. He ranks second on the team in scoring with 21 goals and a team-high 12 assists for 33 points. Prior to this season, Mitchell had won a total of five games in its six-year history of Division III competition.
Mitchell will next host Daniel Webster College on Thursday, April 14 at 4 p.m.
