LeMay Named NECC ROW for Third Time
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the third time this season Mitchell College freshman JD LeMay was tabbed New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's lacrosse, as announced by the league Monday morning.
LeMay was big in goal for the Mariners last week, recording 27 saves while racking up a save percentage of .711. He made 15 saves and allowed a season-low three goals in 60 minutes of action against SUNYIT, saving 83 percent of shots on goal in a 7-3 Mitchell victory. He was also the main reason the Wildcats went 0-for-8 with a man advantage in the contest. Earlier in the week LeMay made 12 saves as the Mariners went to overtime at Mount Ida College, a game they lost while playing man down in extra time.
LeMay has played every minute in goal through nine games this season. He currently leads the NECC with 127 saves and ranks second in save percentage (.623).
Mitchell (5-4 overall) will next play at Albertus Magnus College on Thursday, April 10 at 4 p.m.
