Softball Earns Third Seed for NECC Championship
ATTLEBORO, Mass. -- Lesley University finished the regular season 17-1 and earned the top seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference Softball Championship. The Lynx (18-13 overall, 17-1 NECC) earned a first-round bye and will host the weekend tournament at Regis College begining Friday, May 2.
Game times, dates and location are subject to change.
Becker College (16-18, 13-5 NECC) earned the second seed and will play seventh seed Regis (9-18, 8-10 NECC) in a first round game on Wednesday, April 30.
Mitchell College (16-17, 12-6 NECC) will be the tournament's third seed and will host sixth-seeded Southern Vermont College (11-19, 9-9 NECC) while fifth seed Elms College (12-15, 10-8 NECC) will travel to fourth seed Newbury College (15-17, 11-7 NECC) for a first round matchup.
First round games will be played on Wednesday, April 30 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the double-elimination tournament hosted by Lesley and played at Regis College on Friday, May 2-4.
The top seven teams qualify for the NECC Championship. Game times and dates are subject to change.
