WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- Eastern Connecticut State University (15-7 overall) won for the seventh time in the last eight matches by scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-12 over Mitchell College (6-7 overall) Monday night in women's volleyball action at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium.
Eastern attacked at .306, commited only one reception error and had nine service aces. Samantha Slonski had 13 kills and attacked at .360 and Katie Wilson had eight kills and a .500 attack percentage with two service and three blocks. Slonski also had six digs and 11 assists while Taylor Abelli chipped in with seven digs. Gianna Trombino added 14 assists and two service aces.
Junior Arianna Thomas led Mitchell with 27 digs while freshman Alivia Royal added five kills and sophomore Nicole Terni had eight assists.
Mitchell returns to conference play at Elms College on Wednesday, October 19 at 7 p.m.
