Volleyball Falls 3-0 at Daniel Webster
NASHUA, N.H. - Hannah Koehler posted a match-high 14 kills against just two errors to hit .522 and Becky Hoffman added six kills as host Daniel Webster College took its New England Collegiate Conference opener, 3-0, over Mitchell College on Saturday afternoon at Mario Vagge Gymnasium.
Koehler registered five kills in the first and second sets and four in the third as the Eagles (10-6 overall, 1-0 NECC) posted set scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-15. DWC is now 6-2 over its last eight outings.
Nicole Beard added 25 assists, Courtney Warrington had eight digs and DWC as a team racked up 13 service aces led by four from Madeline Roulier and three from Beard.
Janelle Rice led Mitchell (3-8 overall, 0-1 NECC) with three kills and seven assists while four others notched two kills apiece. Colby Zitoli registered 12 digs for a match-high.
DWC finished with sizable advantages in total kills (34-12), aces (13-1) and digs (34-25).
The Eagles hit .250 in the opening set and trailed just three times, hit .364 in the second and trailed only once, and .207 in the third and trailed only twice.
Mitchell will next host Elms College on Tuesday, October 4 at 6 p.m.
