DeLoach Nabs All-Conference Honors
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College junior Olivia DeLoach was one of seven players selected to the New England Collegiate Conference women's volleyball all-conference team, as announced by the league on Thursday morning.
DeLoach was joined on the team by three players from both New England College and Eastern Nazarene College. All selections were determined by a vote of the conference's head coaches.
DeLoach becomes just the second Mitchell volleyball player to earn all-conference first team status in the program's Division III history. She also becomes the fifth player in school history to earn all-conference honors in more than one season, as she was a second team selection as a rookie in 2019.
DeLoach, an outside hitter, leads the Mariners in both kills (145) and digs (209) while ranking second in service aces (28). She also ranked among the top five in the conference in kills per set (2.20) and digs per set (3.17) during the regular season.
Sophomore Sarah Aviles was also recognized as a member of the Del Malloy Sportsmanship Team. The rookie has played in six matches and recorded seven kills this season.
Mitchell (6-15 overall, 1-2 NECC) is the third seed in the 2021 NECC Women's Volleyball Championship. The Mariners will play at second-seeded Eastern Nazarene on Thursday, November 4 at 7 p.m.
