Meet The Coach
Todd Peretz

Todd Peretz is entering his 11th season as head men's golf coach at Mitchell College in 2023-24.

In 2022, the Mariners placed fifth as the MASCAC Championship, during a season which saw junior Shamus McLean enjoy a breakout season. McLean sported the lowest stroke average on the team at 75.3, which ranked as the lowest single season stroke average in school history. He earned medalist honors in his season debut, shooting a one-under-par round of 70, good for the second lowest round in school history and only the second time a Mitchell golfer has finished under par, and he shot an even-par score of 71 on the second day of the MASCAC Championship, good for the top individual round score over the two day tournament

The 2021 season featured many highlights for Peretz and the Mariners. The squad posted three of the top-10 lowest team scores in program history, the best of which was a 319 in a third-place showing at the MASCAC Championship. It marked Mitchell's best-ever finish at the event, and three players finished among the top six on the leaderboard to earn all-conference honors.

Despite playing in only four events in the 2020-21 season due to the pandemic, Mitchell capped the year with a fourth-place finish at the MASCAC Championship. Michael McCarthy finished third overall to earn all-conference first team honors.

In 2018 the Mariners produced the program's best showing at the NECC Championship since 2008, finishing third with a two-day total of 643. That score was also the lowest ever by a Mitchell squad in the 11-year history of the event. The program also produced its first-ever NECC Rookie of the Year, as well as its first all-conference first team selection in a decade.

Peretz, who assisted with the golf program in 2012, spent eight years as the head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs. He is also entering his 24th season as head coach of the men's basketball program at Mitchell.

Peretz earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Connecticut State University in general studies with a concentration in physical education. He played collegiately at Rhode Island College after graduating from East Lyme High School.

In addition to his coaching duties, Peretz also serves as associate athletics director and is an adjunct instructor for the college. He currently resides in Waterford, CT with his wife, Denise, and son, Tyler.
