Men's Golf Finished Third at Emmanuel
HYDE PARK, Mass. – The Mitchell College men's golf team shot a team round of 340 on Tuesday afternoon to finish third at the Emmanuel College Invitational at George Wright Golf Course.
Paul Arsenault carded a 77 for to lead the Wentworth Institute of Technology squad to a team score of 320, tops in the field of four teams. Suffolk University wasn't far off the pace with a team score of 328 to finish second while host Emmanuel College rounded out the field with a 375.
Arsenault shared medalist honors with Suffolk's Ethan Abitz as both players fired rounds of 77. WIT's Brian Bak was one off the pace with a 78 to help the Leopards to the team victory.
Michael Izzo paced the Mariners with a team-low round of an 81, shooting a 39 on the front and a 42 on the back. Nick Knisel was a shot behind at 82 while David Eichelberg came in at 83. Jake Hancock and Francis Prettitore rounded out Mitchell's scoring with rounds of 94 and 100, respectively.
Mitchell will next compete against Albertus Magnus College on Friday, September 22 at Alling Memorial Golf Course in New Haven, Conn.
