CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Mitchell College softball team picked up their first two conference wins of the season on Sunday, routing Elms College 8-0 in the opener, before winning 11-0 in the second game of the twin bill.

Baseball Soars Past Falcons in GNAC Doubleheader

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Mitchell College baseball team ran their winning streak to a season-high eight games on Saturday afternoon, sweeping a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader over Albertus Magnus in convincing fashion, rolling over the Falcons 15-4 in the opener before a 13-3 rout in game two at Rochford Field.

Gajda Powers Baseball Past Engineers

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Michel Gajda (New Britain, Conn.) went 5-5 with a grand slam, four RBI, and three runs scored on Thursday, lifting the Mitchell College baseball teal over the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 16-8, in non-conference action at Fran O’Brien Field.

Chas Terni Jr.

Sophomore Chas Terni Jr. (Montville, Conn.) turned in a huge week for the Mitchell baseball team, slashing .471/.500/1.059, with three home runs, 13 RBI, and four runs scored. Terni Jr. added a double, two walks, and three stolen bases, helping guide the Mariners to a 4-1 record, including a 3-1 mark in conference play.

Mitchell catcher Brooke Whitmarsh (Portsmouth, R.I.) continued her strong senior season this week, slashing .421/,455/.737 for the Mariners, while driving in six runs and scoring four times.
