Men’s Golf Returns to Action at Mitchell Invite III
GROTON, Conn. – The Mitchell College men's golf team got in their final round before the upcoming GNAC Championship on Thursday afternoon, hosting Wentworth Institute of Technology, Emmanuel College, and Mount Saint Mary College at the Mitchell Invite III, played at Shennecossett Golf Course.
Emmanuel junior Ian Reynolds took medalist honors, firing a five-over-par round of 76, while Mount Saint Mary College took home the top spot as a team, finishing with a score of 326. The Saints placed second with a score of 335, ahead of third place Wentworth (340), and fourth place Mitchell (406).
Junior Jack Hayes (New Milford, Conn.) paced the Mariners, coming in a seventh place tie with a score of 86, shooting a 42 on the front nine and a 44 on the back. Senior Luke Sullivan (Shelton, Conn.) shot a 98 to place 16th overall, while junior Micheal Thompson (Hamden, Conn.) was 18th with a round of 109, and freshman Jackson Rapell (Fairfield, Conn.) rounded out the pack with a 113, good for 19th.
The Mariners will turn their attention to the upcoming GNAC Men's Golf Championship, held at New Haven Country Club on Monday, October 9th-Tuesday, October 10th.
