McLean Tabbed as GNAC Golfer of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Mitchell College senior Shamus McLean (Groton, Conn.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) co-Golfer of the Week for the sport of men's golf, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
McLean shot an even par round of 71 to earn medalist honors in the Mitchell Duel, held Friday, September 6, at Shennecossett Golf Course in Groton, Connecticut. The senior, who shot a 36 on the front nine and a 35 on the back nine, paced the Mariners and helped Mitchell edge out Lesley University 339-342 in the team's opening match of the season. McLean finished with 16 pars, one birdie, and one bogie.
The Mitchell men's golf team will return to play on Wednesday, September 11, when they compete in the Mitchell Invite I at Shennecossett Golf Course.
