Bay Path Hands Women's Tennis 8-1 Setback

LONGMEADOW, Mass. - The Mitchell College women's tennis team lost
an NECC contest at Bay Path College on Tuesday night by a final
score of 8-1.
Bay Path (7-2 overall, 4-1 NECC) started the match with wins at all
three doubles positions. The Wildcats then took five out of six
singles matches to secure the victory.
Mitchell (0-9 overall, 0-5 NECC) saw its lone win come at No.
6 singles, where junior Kelly Walsh picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win over
Kara Fox. The victory was Walsh's first of the season.
The Wildcats took four of their five singles matches in straight
sets. Freshman Carly Crozer was the only Mitchell player who took
her match to a third set. She won the first set 6-2, but Bay Path's
Lianna Loveitt bounced back for 7-5, 6-4 decisions in the final two
sets.
Mitchell returns to action on Thursday, October 8 at home against
Lesley University. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. at
New London High School.
