Women's Tennis Falls 7-2 to Albertus Magnus
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Mitchell College women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision at Albertus Magnus College on Friday evening in non-conference action.
The Mariners (0-2 overall) fell into an early hole after losing all three doubles points. Newcomers Carly Paterson and Alexa Litwak provided a spark in singles play, but the Mariners fell short of the complete comeback.
Paterson picked up her first win of the season in straight sets over Sandybell Anorga at the top singles spot. Litwak lost her first set against Tykima Thompson at No. 5 singles but ultimately battled back to win the final two sets by scores of 6-1 and 6-2. The win was also Litwak's first of the season.
Mitchell opens NECC play on Saturday, September 15 at home against Bay Path College. The match is slated to begin at noon.
