It was a dominant week for Mitchell College junior Brooke Whitmarsh (Portsmouth, R.I.), as the junior catcher/3B slashed .440/.500/.640, helping guide the Mariners to a 6-2 record on the week, including a 5-1 mark in conference play.

Michael Ficocelli (North Providence, R.I.) continued his strong freshman season, slashing .467/.467/.533, helping guide the Mitchell College baseball team to a 3-0 record on the week, including a 1-0 mark in conference play.

Meet The Coach
Andrew Small


Andrew Small was named interim head coach of the Mitchell College women's tennis team in September 2014. 

Small is a graduate of Mitchell College and was a four-year member of the men's tennis team. He helped the Mariners to New England Collegiate Conference titles in all four seasons, and he finished his career with overall records of 33-6 (20-4 NECC) in singles play and 29-8 (20-3 NECC) in doubles play. He was also a two-time NECC Academic All-Conference Team selection and was named to the NECC All-Tournament Team in 2012.

Small graduated from Mitchell in 2012 with a degree in communications. He has worked in the Mitchell Department of Athletics for the past year, primarily assisting in the efforts of the sports information office.
