Still Named NECC Runner and Rookie of the Week
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman David Still was named New England Collegiate Conference Runner and Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's cross country, as announced by the league on Monday morning.
Still clocked in with a season-best time of 30:19.63 to lead the Mariners at the James Earley Invitational last week. He finished 279th overall out of 432 runners at the event, the largest field the Mariners have competed in this season.
Still, who has led the Mariners in all five events in 2016, is the first Mitchell student-athlete to earn both runner and rookie honors in the same week. He also becomes the first to earn those accolades since Timothy Hoch (rookie) in 2013 and Drew Castagna (runner) in 2012.
Mitchell will next compete at the Saints Invitational on Friday, October 14 at 4 p.m.
