Men's XC Finishes First at Post

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. - The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country teams competed at Post University on Saturday afternoon at Hop Brook Park. The men's team finished first out of three teams while the women's squad placed third out of three teams.

Senior John Hoffman picked up his second individual victory of the season by covering the 5,000-meter course in a time of 19:22. Freshman Andrew Castagna crossed the finish line in 20:06 and was runner-up in the race.

On the women's side, senior Brittany Smyth paced the Mariners with a time of 25:24 to finish fourth overall. It marked her second top-five performance of the season.

Mitchell will next compete at Connecticut College on Saturday, October 16 at 11 a.m.
