Sreitmatter Sweeps as GNAC Women’s Cross Country Rookie & Runner of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Jordyn Streitmatter (Brewster, Mass.) has been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week and Runner of the Week for the sport of women's cross country, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Sreitmatter was the top female finisher at the Mitchell Invitational on Friday, September 27, as the Mitchell men's and women's cross country teams hosted Dean College at Stenger Farm Park in Waterford, Connecticut. The first year runner completed the three-mile race in of 24:08.5, good for a 7:46 pace, nearly four minutes faster than the second women runner to cross the finish line.
The Mariners will race next in the Connecticut College Invitational, hosted by the Camels at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut.
