BOSTON, Mass. – The Mitchell College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches by straight sets on Saturday, falling 3-0 to both Regis College and Simmons University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Holmes Sports Center.
The Mariners (6-13, 2-6 GNAC) jump back into action on Wednesday, October 23, when they visit Lasell University in a conference tilt. The Chargers (7-4-6, 5-2-5) play next at Elms College on Wednesday, October 23.

Senior Allison Blum (Garden Grove, Cali.) paced the Mitchell offensive attack during their opening match of the day, finishing with a team-high eight kills and seven digs. The seven digs were matched by junior libero Julia Lent (Miller Place, N.Y.), while freshmen Genna Hyde (Cypress TX) and Molly Wordell (East Haddam, Conn.) recorded five kills apiece. Senior Crystal Gangi was credited with a team-leading nine assists for the Mariners, who trailed for the entirety of the first two sets. The Mariners got out to a 2-0 lead in the third set, and moments later found the score tied 5-5, but a 4-0 run by Regis put the Pride back in control, and they cruised to a 12-point set victory to complete the sweep.
Kamdyn Tenorio racked up 10 kills and eight digs for Regis, both team-leading figures, while Alexandra Rivera handed out 17 assists to help give the Pride their fifth win in their last six matches played.

The Sharks attacked the Mariners from the jump, taking the opening set 25-13 and the second set 25-11. Mitchell worked to force a tie in the third set, evening the score at 4-4 on a kill by Allison Blum, but five straight points by Simmons put the Sharks back in pole position.
Blum once again paced the Mariners with five kills, moving the senior into second place all time for kills in program history. Julia Lent recorded seven defensive digs for Mitchell, while senior Brooke Taylor (Montville, Conn.) had four assists.
